Research & Mindmap

Market

The product on the market that is most relevant to gamers who sit for long periods of time is the gaming chair, which uses an ergonomic design to alleviate the damage caused by longtime sitting.

Fuction

As long as gamers can switch postures, they can break longtime sitting.

Can I guide and facilitate players to switch their postures through fast, convenient and interesting interactions without interrupting the game?

User Centered

Longtime sitting is a common bad habit among game players.

The reasons are: first, games allow players to focus more on their own content rather than physical discomfort. Second, many games (online games) cannot be paused, and players must wait until the game is over before leaving their seats.

Design Element

There are some stereotypes in the design for gamers: e-sports style, gorgeous lighting effects, etc.

This makes it difficult for gamer products to fit into the modern interior design style. I hope to add aesthetic elements to break this situation.

  • Proposal

More fundamental solution is making switching between postures more convenient and attractive.

  • Painpoint

Gamers suffer from pain caused by long time sitting, while related product: furniture and equipments can only relieve this pain but not solve the problem from more fundamental cause.

  • Concept

Can I redesign a Gamer Chair with elegant appearance to solve pain caused by longtime sitting more fundamentally through interesting interaction?
